- Thursday, September 15: Wheeling Jesuit College Rep during lunches in the Auditeria for Seniors
- Thursday, September 15 - Sgt. Gagnon in the guidance office during lunch periods to speak to seniors interested in ROTC
- Friday, September 16 - Red Cross Volunteer meeting in guidance office 1st period.
- Monday, September 19: DeVry Rep for career topic in Senior English Classes

- Wednesday, September 28: Alderson Broaddus (WV) College Rep during lunches in Auditeria for seniors
- Wednesday, September 28: Hocking College 1st per. in guidance office
- Thursday, September 29: Akron University Rep during lunches in Auditeria for seniors
- Friday, September 30: Marine Rep for ASAVAB (aptitude) interpretation in Senior English classes
- Tuesday, October 4: The representative from Ohio Northern University will be here during 1st Period in the Guidance Office.
- Tuesday, October 4: The representative from Lincoln Tech will be here at lunch in the auditeria.
- Wednesday, October 5: The Kent Tusc representative will be here during 1st period in the Guidance Office. She always interviews students individually to get an idea of who has earned scholarship rights, so please sign up with Mrs. Johns for 15 minute intervals if you would like to talk with the Kent Tusc. rep.
- Monday, October 17: Senior T-Shirts are in Mrs. Schram's office for you to pick up. Senior girls should get your order for your powder puff shirts in as early as possible so the order can be made. No orders will be taken after Monday, October 24.
- Tuesday, October 18: College representatives will be here during 4th period from Urbana University and during lunch periods from Muskingum College. Please stop by to speak with them and find out more about those colleges.

- Tuesday, November 1: All application materials due for a pharmacy degree at Ohio Northern.
- Friday, November 11: Deadline for the December ACT
- Thursday, November 16: KSU-Tusc is having an information night for seniors who may attend there. Thursday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of Founder's Hall. Students there will talk with admissions reps., tour the campus, experience a college class, and find out about financial aid. Best of all they get to explore 1 of the following majors: business, communicatioins, computer tech., criminology & justice studies, education, engineering tech., nursing, technical & applied studies, and Veterinary Tech.
IF STUDENTS ATTEND THIS, THEIR $30 APPLICATION FEE TO APPLY TO KSU-T WILL BE WAIVED. I realize that many students say, "I'm not going there," but when they compute the cost of other campuses, many do attend there.
- Thursday, December 1: Deadline for majors at Ohio Northern and several other colleges.
- Saturday, December 10: Those students who will be taking the ACT test on Saturday, should report to the main hallway by 7:45. Bring #2 pencils, a calculator and your admission ticket, plus a current picture i.d. If you are NOT taking the writing section, you will finish around 11:40, if you ARE signed up for the writing section, you will finish around 12:15.
- February 1: KSU is sponsoring the Stan & Tom Wick Poetry Scholarship Competition for any senior who intends to enroll full time at Kent. 1st place includes a $3,000 renewable scholarship, with 2nd and 3rd places being awarded also.
This may also be available for thos going to Kent-Tusc. It is due February 1. See Mrs. Schram for more details.
- February 16: Parent/Teacher Conferences, 4:00 - 7:30
- February 17: Waiver Day, No School for students
- February 17: The American Red Cross and The Times Reporter are sponsoring a Hero Writing Contest for grades K-12. The entry must be an original essay, short story, or poem of no more than 500 words. It also must be typed or handwritten in blue or black ink.
The high school topic is: A Military Hero I know, Past or Present.
See Mrs. Schram for an official entry application. The prize is a $100 U.S. Savings Bond. Deadline is February 17.
- Monday, February 20 and Friday, March 23: Akron University is having senior days, especiall for high school seniors on Monday, February 20 and Friday, March 23. If you attend, you will learn about the enrollment process, as well as discover more about the Akron Advantages. Each attendee will also receive a complimentary University of Akron T-Shirt. You can register online
- February 23: Engineering Expo at the Performing Arts Center at KSU-Tusc., 4:30 - 8:30.
- February 25: The Ohio Veterinary Medical Association is sponsoring their own college fair for future veterinarians on Saturday, February 25 in Columbus. This is for juniors and seniors and your parents to learn about opportunities and college programs for those hoping to become a veterinarian. Deadline to register is February 17 and cost of the program is $10. See Mrs. Schram for more information.
- March 5-9: Exam Week for 3rd Nine Weeks
- March 8, 9, 10: High School Musical (Sound of Music)
- March 10: SAT Tests at Claymont (must register a month ahead of time.
- March 12-16: OGT Week at CHS (tests will be give this week)
- March 16: End of 3rd Nine Weeks
- March 22: Fine Arts Festival at CHS, 6:30
- March 31: Spring Break begins
- March 31: Special Olympics Basketball Tournament at CHS
- April 9: Classes resume
- April 14: ACT Tests at CHS (must register a month ahead of this)
- April 25: Teen Roadeo at Fairgrounds
- April 28: Prom at CHS
- May 1: National Honor Society Induction, 7:00 p.m.
- May 5: SAT tests at CHS (must register a month ahead of this)
- May 7: First day of mentoring for those participating

- May 24: Baccalaureate Ceremony for all graduates and families at local church
