GRADUATION AND SENIOR BABY VIDEOS

Pre-sale Graduation Videos and Senior Baby Videos are available in Mr. Mayo's room. There will be a limited number available at graduation.


NATIONAL GUARD

Sgt. Heaton from the National Guard will be here on Wednesday, May 16 during lunch to speak with any students interested in the National Guard.


SOFTBALL

The softball team has a district final tournament game at Cambridge City Park on Wednesday, May 16 at 5:00. The cost is $6 to get in. Come and support the softball team!

LIBRARY INFO

The library will be closed after 5A on Tuesday, May 15 until Wednesday, May 23.

Leave borrowed books and magazines on the library desk.

Ebooks may be checked out from our website anytime over the summer. See Mrs. Warden this morning or next week for details.

A pair of black frame glasses was left in the library lab last week. You can claim them at the library front desk.

The library has a new display with suggestions for summer reading. Get ahead of the curve and plan now for ways to fill up summer days. Check out the display today.

All library materials were due on Friday, May 11. Please speak with Mrs. Warden if you have lost your book.

Any student who read Look Me in the Eye, but no longer wants the book may return it to the library. The books will be used at another school.


ART CLUB

All members need to get cookout information from Mrs. Kunkle by the end of the week.


A-TEAM

Anyone interested in being a part of the A-Team (Abstinence Group) for the next school year please see your guidance counselor as soon as possible to get your name on the contact list. You must be at least a sophomore to join.

We are looking for students who are creative, energetic, outgoing, and of course, passionate about the topic to join!

It is a great way to meet others from different schools in the county, gain community service hours and looks great on schools in the county, gain community service hours and looks great on scholarship forms.


DENNISON RAILROAD FESTIVAL QUEEN

The Dennison Railroad Festival Queen's contest for 15-18 years of age will be held on Wednesday, June 13. Applications for the contest may be picked up at the school office, Twin City Pharmacy, or may be printed from the Dennison Railroad Festival website.

WATER PARK DISCOUNT

Uhrichsville Water Park is offering all students ages 3-17 who live or attend school in the Claymont School district a discount on the daily regular admission price. The daily rate for those registered with the water park will be $3.

All students MUST be registered and fingerprinted on one of the following dates in order to receive this discount (May 5, 12, 19) between the hours of 10:00 - 2:00.

No additional registrations will be taken from those dates.


CLAYL'LYMPICS RULES

  1. Teams shall consist of 10 students (5 boys/5 girls) in grades 9-12
  2. One teacher can be on a team and would take the place of a student
  3. Team members cannot have an F in any subject in order to participate
  4. Each team member is required to participate in a minimum of TWO individual events
  5. Each team member must pay a $1 registration fee ($10 total per team)
  6. NO tank tops or short shorts can be worn the day of the event!
  7. Forms and registration were due to Mrs. Sanders in room 129 by Friday, May 4.

KENT STATE STARTALK PROGRAM

Kent State University has announced a program called STARTALK Foreign Language Academy, where very good students can learn Arabic, Chinese, and Russian in a 5 week program on the main Kent campus this summer.

Dates are June 17-July 14. The program is FREE and students can earn 5 college credits.

The students will live in the newest dorm on campus in a culture-rich environment. There is also a commitment for follow up distance learning sessions and one Saturday a month meetings.


UHRICHSVILLE WATER PARK
LIFEGUARDS

The Uhrichsville Water Park is looking for lifeguards. To apply, you can pickup an application at the Mayor's Office. They will start hiring within three weeks.


TAPPAN LAKE PARK JOBS

There are several job openings at Tappan Lake Park available this summer. Mrs. Schram has the applications and you can pick one up today! The various jobs include: Gate/registration attendant, park attendant, facilities attendant, boat rental agent, and beach guard.


KSU-TUSC SUMMER ACADEMY
FOR GREEN ENERGY ALTERNATIVES

KSU-Tusc will be offering a new Bachelor’s Degree in Green Energy Alternatives.  This Bachelor’s Degree will begin in the Fall semester.  Any student who may be interested in a summer academy this summer should see Ms. Albaugh for more details.

The summer program dates: June 11-14, from 9:00 – 4:00.


OHIO GOVERNER'S YOUTH ART EXHIBIT

Congratulations to Mitch Bonifay and Chelsea Swigert whose artworks were chosen to go on to state competition in the Ohio Youth Art Exhibition. Their work was judged Saturday, March 10 in Columbus.

WATER PARK APPLICATIONS

The City of Uhrichsville is now accepting applications for employment at the Water Park for this upcoming season. We are in need of lifeguards and concession workers.

Please stop in for an application at the mayor's office in the police station building if you are interested.


SUMMER PHYS ED

If any student needs and is interested in summer Phys. Ed., we now have the application forms for new Philadelphia's classes at Tuscora Park. Cost is $145 for 1/4 credit. See Mrs. Schram for more information.


DUAL ENROLLMENT 2012-2013

Check out the schedule for Dual Enrollment for next school year. All credits are free, and the courses are held at Claymont High School during their scheduled periods.

ECOESC DRIVER EDUCATION

East Central Ohio ESC Drivers Training is keeping the combined book work classes to keep the cost down to the students and parents. Almost all book work classes will be held at the ESC Office in New Philadelphia but the student's in-car driving will still be from their contracted school location.

Students must enroll in class by calling Donna Golec weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the ECOESC office at (330)308-5349 or through email with students' full name, mailing address, date of birth, phone, which school they attend and in which class they would like to enroll.


PARKING RULES

Students will NOT be permitted to park in front of the building. All students will park in the designated student parking area.

Students who drive and leave to go to Buckeye Career Center or Kent must park in the front lot in the back row. You will also need to sign in and out in the attendance office.

Did you know that you can receive College Credit while attending High School? Consider signing up for the Dual Enrollment or Tech Prep courses offered through Kent State, here at Claymont in Room 220.

LUNCH INFO

If you are using silverware during the lunch periods, please be sure to place it in the bin... NOT the trash!

The outside lunch area will be open during 5A only. Mr. Logan will be on duty.

Please check the Guidance Office informational web site and the Scholarship web site for news and scholarships.


HOUSE KEEPING

This is a reminder that when your lunch period is over there should not be any drinks, food or condiments taken from the auditeria to your lockers or hallways. If we see any items, they will be collected and thrown away. If you continue to be a repeat offender, other disciplinary actions may be given.


(SHARE) CHS PRAYER GROUP

SHARE, the CHS prayer group, meets Fridays at 7:30 in the library lab. Everyone is welcome.


BACKPACKS

Backpacks are not permitted to be carried to class. Backpacks and book bags must be put in your locker once you arrive.


PARKING PASSES

Student parking passes are $3.00 each.

Athletic parking passes are $2.00
