Each May at the Claymont Foundation alumni dinner, graduating seniors are awarded scholarships made possible by your contributions.  This past year, over thirty four scholarships, totaling $30,750.00 were awarded.  The list of scholarship winners for 2010/2011 are listed in the Summer 2011 Newsletter online.

There are many ways to support the Claymont Foundation and its goals to enhance the academics and provide additional educational opportunities for the students of the Claymont School system.  One way is to donate to the scholarship fund.  Donations may be made to an existing scholarship or you may create a new scholarship fund.

The Claymont Foundation is a 501(c)(3) corporation and your donations will be tax deductible.  If you desire to establish a Claymont Foundation, Inc. scholarship in your name or in the name of a loved one, this can easily be accomplished.  This could honor or recognize a person while they are living or as a memorial to a deceased individual.  Contact can be by letter to the Claymont Foundation, Inc., PO Box 255 Dennison Ohio  44621 or by contacting Beth Lint (740) 922-5478.   

The Foundation will award your scholarship annually based upon the agreed upon amount and the funds available.  You should specify any restrictions or purposes that you may have in order that the appropriate student, college and/or course of study may be selected.

The Foundation annually provides the scholarship applications to the guidance counselors at the Claymont High School and the students must complete the forms for evaluation by a committee of the Board of Trustees of the Claymont Foundation.  The Foundation will award and announce the scholarships in your name or the name you designate and provide the necessary financial accounting.

If you would like to make a contribution to the Foundation in memory of a deceased friend or relative, this can be done generally to the Foundation for the support of its many other functions or it can be left in memory of that person to one of the existing scholarships.

with an annotation that the donation is for scholarships.  The financial secretary and treasurer of the Foundation will be instructed to restrict these funds for that particular purpose.
